Basket (Cart)

There's generally 2 places a user will be faced with an empty basket. The minicart, and the basket page itself

Minicart

We wouldn't really expect a user to click a basket knowing they've got nothing in there, but if they do, they're generally presented with a pretty boring "There are no items in your cart" message; or something to that effect

Basket Page

This isn't something we would expect to see all that often, because the only way a user would see an empty basket page directly is if they added products to their basket, went to basket and then deleted the products

Either way, an empty basket can definitely leave the user feeling a bit "flat"; a bit like they're unattended to. That's why we've created 2 opportunities to fill these voids with your own content that allows you to recommend products, categories, promotions etc, to urge the user to continue shopping...

zero1-empty-minicart-content

• Go to Admin > Content > Blocks
• Create a new block
• Add a name that you will easily find in future
• Important! - Make sure the block identifier is zero1-empty-minicart-content
• Add your content and Save

This will now automatically show on the basket page itself if there are no products in the user's basket
